The old Victorian Mansion sits on the top of the hill, at the end of a road that seems to serve no other purpose than to lead unfortunate visitors to its doors. Its reputation has traveled around the world, purportedly the most haunted house on Earth, countless investigators, thrillseekers, and occultists have made the pilgrimage across its threshold, hoping to learn its secrets. Some have even returned to talk about their experiences, but no two stories about what go on inside the house have ever been the same.

You are one such pilgrim – you've traveled to the house in the hopes of answering a question. Whether you find that answer is entirely up to you. Stepping inside the house you're shocked as the doors slam shut behind you. No matter what you do, you can't get them open. What's worse, every piece of technology you brought along with you has died, batteries suddenly emptied of their charges. You hear the huge clock on the wall chime nine times. Looking at its face, you see a marking by the 9, and another next to the five. The doors will open again in nine hours, but until then – the house has you.
